Kratos is seeking a Software Development Engineer
. The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing a Sec Dev Ops  approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, test, and operational support/user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions.

The candidate must be self‑motivated, a self‑learner, and able to work well within a dynamic schedule. They must communicate effectively with team members, customers, and vendor support, leverage modern industry‑standard technologies, and provide status updates on design efforts. The Software Development Engineer may be expected to support more than one project simultaneously, bringing their knowledge and experience to help not only their primary project but also other projects address critical issues and challenges.

This position is available in Colorado Springs, CO, and the candidate needs to be willing to travel approximately 10%.

• 2–5 years software engineering
• BS in SE, CS, EE, CE, or another engineering equivalent
• Java and C/C++ programming on Linux platforms
• Java/C++ Full Stack, backend implementations
• Batch File, Python scripting
• Solid understanding of relational database applications and expression creation
• Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related degree
• Ability to learn, take ownership, and deliver high‑quality results in an unstructured environment
• Experience using Atlassian tools and working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience scoping effort to accomplish a task
• Ability to effectively work in a team (IPT) environment

• Network, multi‑threaded, client‑server programming
• Experience addressing software race conditions
• Driver development
• Experience in Sec/Dev/Ops design and implementation
• Docker/Container & Kubernetes design and implementation knowledge and experience on‑premise and cloud
• Ability to design software solutions to complex engineering problems
• Ability to lead teams in software development, mentor/coach newer software engineers
• Ability and experience in defining and developing requirements with customers, defining/architecting solutions to satisfy them, and developing the test methodology to verify them
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• TS clearance
• Experience in GUI (frontend), can be in JavaScript, PHP or other
• Experience in C#
• Database experience, SQL, MSSQL, …
• Experience in network (multi‑server) and WANIF applications and implementation
• Windows OS

Competitive salary based on experience and education. Salary Range: $130,000–$176,000.
