The Software Engineer III will design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical software for missile warning systems. This on‑site role in Colorado Springs at Peterson SFB requires security clearance, secure collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and hands‑on coding, testing, installation, and maintenance of complex engineering computer programs.

• Develop, create, modify, operate, integrate, test, and maintain software systems or platforms.
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Containerize existing codebases using Docker and other container technologies.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
• Ensure security of software and systems.
• Work with Agile teams in high‑level design, development, implementation, integration, and verification of software components.
• Participate in periodic large‑scale Agile planning events and standard Agile meetings.
• Develop computer program documentation and operational procedures.
• Provide diagnostic support to correct processing anomalies in complex computer programs.
• Assist in the preparation of specifications and activities requiring programming principles and techniques.
• Interpret requirements and perform analysis to ensure objectives are met.

• 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java (required).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Google Test, or similar.
• Containerizing experience with Docker (Kubernetes a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions.
• Broad expertise in development languages, tools, and environments for software‑centric solutions.
• Ability to produce design documentation and as‑built documentation with little or no assistance.

Minimum Active Secret Security Clearance required;
Top Secret preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

$14,000 – $175,000 USD (variable incentive compensation possible).
