Job Summary
Mid-Senior Software Developer – responsible for designing, developing, and integrating AI and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) into defense and mission-focused applications, specifically supporting Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Modeling & Simulation (M&S).
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and enhance mission-focused applications using Python, focusing on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and AI applications for M&S and IAMD.
- Lead AI integration across mission workflows, designing and deploying AI‑agentic workflows to automate and optimize complex technical tasks.
- Operate effectively within a "badgeless" multi‑contractor environment, fostering collaboration with government customers and other contract teams.
- Coordinate and execute development activities across multiple geographical locations using modern communication tools.
- Support analysis, development, and integration of software capabilities across multiple mission areas, ensuring AI‑driven solutions meet rigorous defense requirements.
- Identify technical risks, recommend solutions, and drive program execution in an agile framework.
- Document software designs, architectures, and test results; provide clear technical briefings to leadership and stakeholders.

- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience at a mid‑to‑senior level.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and associated libraries/frameworks.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a self‑starter.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a distributed, "badgeless" team environment.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including documentation and briefing of complex technical concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and general AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience developing AI‑agentic workflows and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into operational environments.
- Knowledge of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).
- Experience with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM).
- Experience with in DoD, defense, aerospace, or complex engineering‑focused environments.
- Experience engaging cross‑functional teams and government stakeholders to align technical development with mission requirements.
- Strong technical documentation, briefing, and reporting experience.
