Overview
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) Experimentation Lab (X-LAB), is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that engineers, develops, and integrates new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. The lab works in small agile teams on tasks such as Sensor-Weapon integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and the enhancement of other critical missile-defense technologies.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, mid-level software engineer to join in Colorado Springs and develop and test innovative solutions in support of X-LAB projects and experiments.
Position Notes- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Location:
Schriever, Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO; 100% onsite. - Approximately 10% travel to customer sites across the U.S. may be required.
- Occasional support for test events off-hours (overnight or weekends).
As leader of the C2
BMC team, Lockheed Martin directs a partnership of industry leaders that design, develop, test, integrate, and field hardware and software for the Missile Defense System. Team members interface with the Missile Defense Agency and collaborate with software and systems engineers, architects, and project engineers.
- Active Final Secret clearance prior to starting.
- Experience with Java and the Spring framework.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Experience with software test and analysis tools.
- Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or tool development.
- Proficiency with Maven (or comparable build tools).
- Daily use of Git/Git Lab for source-code management, branching strategies, and code reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for deployment, configuration, or orchestration.
- Skills in packaging, installing, and diagnosing software in both development and operational settings.
- Hands-on experience with Agile development processes and ability to convey requirements and progress to multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with missile-defense or sensor-weapon integration concepts and related algorithms.
- Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers.
- Understanding of systems engineering, system design, and development.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
This position requires a Secret level security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Compensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary range (varies by state) $93,200 - $164,450. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
