Senior Software Engineer III - Java, Docker, Kubernetes Cleared

The position is fully on‑site in Colorado Springs at Peterson SFB. An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required;
Top Secret is preferred.

The Software Engineer III will design, develop and maintain mission‑critical software to support missile warning systems. The role is 100% on‑site and requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a secure environment.

• Develop, create, modify, operate, integrate, test and maintain software systems or platforms.
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Containerize existing codebases using Docker and other container technologies.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
• Ensure the security of software and systems.
• Work with Agile teams in high‑level design, development, implementation, integration, and verification of software components.
• Attend and participate in large‑scale Agile planning events and standard Agile meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives).
• Develop software program documentation and operational procedures.
• Provide diagnostic support to correct processing anomalies in complex computer programs.
• Assist in preparing specifications and other activities that require knowledge of programming principles and techniques.
• Interpret requirements and perform analysis to ensure that objectives are met.

• 4+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
• Strong experience with Java skills required.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Google Test, or similar.
• Experience containerizing applications using Docker (Kubernetes experience a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions.
• Broad expertise in development languages, tools and environments for software‑centric solutions.
• Ability to produce design documentation and as‑built documentation with little or no assistance.

Minimum ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance required;
Top Secret preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

$14,000 – $175,000 USD (actual salary will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and skills).
