AI/ML Engineer (Modeling & Simulation)
0–2 Years | $100,000 - $125,000 | Colorado Springs, CO (Schriever SFB – Onsite) | Secret Clearance Required
Build intelligent systems that power next-generation missile defense—where AI meets national security and real-world mission impact.
Responsibilities- Support the full lifecycle of AI/ML solutions—from problem definition and data collection to model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Develop and validate machine learning models using modern frameworks, ensuring accuracy, performance, and mission alignment.
- Collaborate with software engineers and Dev Ops teams to integrate AI/ML models into production environments.
- Communicate AI/ML insights and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while supporting continuous model improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance to start.
- Experience or familiarity with AI/ML techniques including deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
- Programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras).
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Experience in aerospace or engineering domains.
- Familiarity with MLOps and deploying models at scale.
- Experience with A/B testing and performance evaluation of AI/ML models.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of Dev Ops tools and practices.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data environments.
- Experience in Modeling & Simulation (M&S) environments.
- Knowledge of missile flight characteristics, motion, and atmospheric dynamics.
- Understanding of trajectory analysis, countermeasures, debris modeling, and signature modeling.
- Experience with missile system models and performance analysis.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
