Software Manager

Position Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Level 4 Software Engineering Manager with a Secret clearance to work from Colorado Springs, CO.

• Provide engineering leadership and management to a diverse team.
• Lead a 7–10 person team of software and Dev Sec Ops  engineers.
• Monitor and correct system performance issues, perform system patching and operating system updates.
• Oversee deployment of software/hardware deliveries, support special projects, and assist operational crews and contractor teams to resolve system issues. Meticulously record problem statements and create reports.
• Manage personnel resources and support site financial plans.
• Recruit, hire, and develop appropriate skill level.
• Guide staff to meet critical schedules and resolve complex technical/operational problems.
• Perform administrative management duties for engineering staff: timecard approval, compliance training, promotions, performance reviews, awards, and terminations.
• Own, execute, and status site-level initiatives.
• Assist and coordinate with test team for system integration and test activities.
• Support ad‑hoc tasking and stretch assignments as outlined by Program Leaders.
• Provide after‑hours and on‑call support (24/7 emergency) as required.

• Leadership experience in design, management, and development of software or provisioning code.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams in dynamic environments.
• US Citizen with an active Final Secret Level clearance required.
• Experience with software configuration management tools such as Git and managing multiple configuration baselines.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with servers, network design, protocols, build tools, embedded systems, or driver development.
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Software experience in C++, C, Java, or other coding languages.
• Experience with system provisioning/Dev Sec Ops .
• Experience with Cost Account Management & Earned Value.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
