Lockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting‑edge defense technology, is seeking a Software Architect to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission‑critical projects that protect and serve our nation’s defense, specifically in military satellite communications (SATCOM) Ground systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system integration, software architecture, and web application development and will lead the program effort of establishing, hardening, and improving the framework for deployment and utilization across the system.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including development, testing, and operations, to ensure successful development, installation, hardening and improvement of the system frameworks.
• Develop and maintain the overall framework architecture for the Ground system, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain the framework technical roadmap, diagrams, and documents to guide the framework team.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and security requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize integration requirements.
• Develop and execute proof‑of‑concepts (POCs) to validate decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to the teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues.
• Continuously progress the technical solution for improvements in automation, decrease installation time, and drive out cyber findings.
• Effectively manage subcontractor work to include clear statement of work with product expectations and requirements flow down.

• Experience in cloud‑based, modern web frameworks with a focus on system integration.
• Experience in infrastructure and middleware.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns, including microservices, event‑driven architecture, and service‑oriented architecture.
• Experience with API design and development, including RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and database design.
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), particularly in secure, high‑performance applications.
• Experience in management of subcontract team members contributing to technical solutions.
• Final secret clearance.

• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in management of subcontract team members contributing to technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and secure communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops  process, tools, and frameworks.
• Problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience with cloud‑based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools.
• Familiarity with container security and vulnerability management.
• Experience with technical writing and documentation.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, including experience with test‑driven development (TDD) or behavior‑driven development (BDD).

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
