Position: Software Quality Engineer 4

Contract (1 year) – This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Position:
Software Quality Engineer – Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) – Colorado Springs, CO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Work statement is a non‑managerial role, non‑leadership role.

Responsibilities
  • Defines and maintains program‑level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure.
  • Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery.
  • Performs process and product audits to verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards.
  • Supports program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information.
  • Participates in configuration management activities.
  • Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities.
  • Ensures integrity of the test process and verifies test results.
  • Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities.
  • Performs final reconciliation of software data products.
  • Identifies process or product non‑compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities.
  • Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance.
  • Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement.
  • Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and 3+ years’ experience working on a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Software Quality role.
  • 3+ years’ experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or implement corrective action and/or preventive action.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing.
  • Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO‑178, and/or MIL‑STD‑882E requirements.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Collaborator, Bitbucket, and Beyond Compare.
  • Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated Dev Ops processes/tools.
Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate: $76 USD per hour.

Max Pay Rate: $81 USD per hour.
