Join Citra Space Corporation and help shape the future of space domain awareness (SDA). At Citra, we specialize in exploiting passive RF and electro-optical technologies to track, identify, and characterize space objects, ensuring the safety and sustainability of on-orbit activities. Our team tackles some of the most complex challenges in SDA, addressing threats posed by unidentified or anomalous space objects that could disrupt communications, damage infrastructure, or compromise national security.

As a member of our team, you'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to solving critical problems that impact the future of global space operations.

In this role, you will research and develop SDA algorithms to detect, track, and characterize satellites from various sensor types including electro-optical and RF. This may include both traditional and AI-based methods for image processing, object detection, data fusion, and state estimation.

Responsibilities

  • Optical Systems Baseline: Deploy, operate, and own the baseline algorithms and hardware required to detect, track, and identify satellites from ground-based sensors.
  • Research and Development:
Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for satellite tracking, identification, characterization, state estimation, and multi-sensor data fusion.
  • Algorithm Testing and Optimization:
Test, debug, and refine algorithms to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Multi-Sensor Fusion:
Implement algorithms that integrate data from multiple sensors to enhance space domain awareness (SDA) and space object identification (SOI).
  • Documentation and Reporting:
Document algorithmic solutions and methodologies effectively and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning:
Stay updated on advancements in algorithm development, machine learning techniques, and emerging technologies relevant to SDA.

Qualifications

  • Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in algorithm development or related roles.
  • Programming Skills:
Proficiency in Python is required; experience with Rust or C++ is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of data structures, signal processing, state estimation techniques, and multi-sensor data fusion methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on computational efficiency and algorithmic optimization.
  • Command and Control:
Experience using ASCOM/INDI to remotely operate optical systems and collect observation data.
  • Image Processing:
Experience using  or a comparable application to calculate photometric and directional data in FITS files.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with both traditional and machine learning techniques for space object identification.
  • Experience working with passive RF sensor data.
  • Background in space domain awareness or satellite tracking technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

· Paid healthcare for employees and dependents

· Employer HSA contributions

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge developments in space domain awareness while working on innovative algorithmic solutions that impact the future of satellite tracking and identification systems.
