** was established in 2004 to develop and deploy the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA)

BMC)
** system.  This system ingests data from sensors around the globe to create a single source of information for the warfighter to enable engagements.  The C2

BMC Program is a full lifecycle defense contract providing solutions across the engineering capability to include system architecture, development, deployment, operations and maintenance, and sustainment of the Missile Defense System (MDS).
** This work integrates efforts from multiple companies (teammates)
** with systems engineering experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE), requirements development, modeling and simulation (M&S), network design, integration and test, and analysis.

This position will focus on supporting the

* Position Responsibilities:

*** Work with industry partners as a key contributor to design, develop, maintain, and test new and existing Java-based applications in support of the C2

BMC applications.
* Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing
* Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes
* Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems
* Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics
* Execute and document integration and test activities and events
* Mentor junior engineers
** Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
*** Bachelor’s Degree
* ** Active Secret Clearance
*** Familiarity with the Agile software development process
* 2+ years of experience with backend development (Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, SQL Server)
* 2+ years working in Unix or Linux environment
* 2+ years of development, deployment and version control tools such as Git, Eclipse, Jira and Version One
* 1+ year of experience with SysML Modeling Language
** Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
*** Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
* 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Strong Java (J2EE/Java Spring) development experience
* Strong understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques
* Understanding standard system engineering design artifacts such as System Requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams
* Experience using Eclipse to develop Java-based software applications
* Experience using Maven, Gradle, and/or microservices
* Experience software performance optimization
