C++ Software Developer (Linux/Android)

Kforce is seeking a C++ Software Developer to support an innovative technology program in San Diego, CA. This role focuses on developing and enhancing software applications across Linux and Android environments, leveraging modern C++ development practices and frameworks including Qt. The ideal candidate will have experience building robust applications, working across multiple platforms, and contributing throughout the software development lifecycle in a collaborative Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern C++
• Develop software solutions for Linux and Android operating systems
• Create and enhance user interfaces using the Qt framework
• Collaborate with system engineers, architects, and development teams to define technical solutions
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects in complex environments
• Perform software integration, testing, and validation activities
• Optimize software performance, scalability, and reliability
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices
• Support software deployment, sustainment, and lifecycle activities
• Contribute to Agile development processes, sprint planning, and technical discussions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 4-8 years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience developing applications using C++
• Experience developing software in Linux environments
• Experience with Android application or platform development
• Hands-on experience with Qt and Qt-based application development
• Familiarity with object-oriented design, multithreading, and software design patterns
• Experience using Git or other version control systems
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
• Experience supporting government, defense, or mission-critical programs
• Familiarity with embedded systems development
• Experience with software integration and automated testing
• Knowledge of networking concepts and distributed systems
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
