Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is supporting the recruiting efforts of a company in the distribution industry to find a Staff Accountant. This is a full time, permanent position in DTC. It is 100% in office, and is paying $80-95k + bonus. Additional information and job requirements are below.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the accounting staff to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger

- Oversee the monthly accounting close process, delivering accurate financial data in a timely manner

- Establish and uphold financial controls in collaboration with the Accounting Manager and operating companies

- Manage the outsourced fixed asset register, and accurately record asset acquisitions and disposals

- Supervise centralized cash funding, intercompany transfers, and group cash management, including bank reconciliations

- Work with the corporate accounting team to provide internal and external reporting, and analyze key metrics and financial data to evaluate company performance

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records

- Prepare journal entries and manage the general ledger

- Oversee the month-end close process and seek continuous process improvements.

Requirements

Non-negotiable requirements:

+ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business

+ 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a mid to large size company

+ Strong Excel experience

Preferred:

+ CPA or CPA in process

+ MBA

+ Public accounting foundation a huge plus (preferably Big 4 or large regional)
