Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle accounting of the company’s fixed assets, including capital project tracking, asset capitalization, depreciation, and compliance with internal policies and GAAP. This position plays a key role in supporting operational growth, capital expenditures, and financial reporting accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KeyResponsibilities
Manage the fixed asset subledger and ensure accuracy of asset records across multiple locations and facilities
Review and track capital expenditures (Cap Ex) and construction-in-progress (CIP) projects
Analyze invoices and project costs to determine proper capitalization vs. expense treatment
Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements
Calculate and record monthly depreciation and reconcile to the general ledger
Partner with operations, engineering, and plant leadership to monitor asset status and project completion
Maintain and improve fixed asset policies and procedures
Support annual physical asset inventories and cycle counts
Assist with year-end audits, including preparation of fixed asset roll forwards and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company capitalization policies
Support budgeting and forecasting for capital projects
Assist with ERP system improvements and fixed asset module enhancements
Analyze large data sets related to asset activity and provide reporting to leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4+ years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to fixed asset accounting
Manufacturing, industrial, or capital-intensive industry experience strongly preferred
Solid understanding of depreciation methods, capitalization rules, and GAAP
Experience working with CIP and large capital projects
ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Dynamics, or similar)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance teams
CPA or CPA candidate
Experience with multi-location or multi-entity environments
Background in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting
