Lead Accounts Payable Specialist

- -As a key member of the Finance organization, the Gogo Lead Accounts Payable Specialist is a high-energy, detail-oriented person with leadership skills and a passion for accounting and numbers. The Lead Accounts Payable Specialist performs a variety of upper-level accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience in serving as a lead in an accounts payable team, the month-end close process and anything accounting related while learning the ins and outs of the business from the bottom up.

Primary point of contact for the A/P team to work with to resolve issues that require your assistance and expertise

Analyze major accounts and prepare monthly reconciliation of subsidiary accounts to general ledger

Develop and implement record keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to A/PIdentify and resolve problems and inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures; elevates issues as necessary

Oversee compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures

Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing cause of unexpected variance. Design and run Quarterly and Monthly financial reports

Direct, train, and assign work of Accounts Payable staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance , or related work experience4-7 years’ experience in A/P processing

Required Skills, Talents, & Experience Organized and able to be a lead in the team, while managing deadlines

Effective problem solving; methodical, detail-oriented and analytical approach to issue resolution

Strong attention to details with analytical, organizational and research abilities

Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills, Talents, & Experience

ERP systems experience, Microsoft Business Central a plus

Be comfortable using computers and software including, but not limited to, accounting and management information systems, spreadsheets and databases

Experience in evaluating and streamlining processes and systems, developing and implementing policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiencies

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication and messaging skills

24.60 - 30.75 USD Hourly Target Annual Short-Term Incentive :

Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
