Director of Technical Accounting
We are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to lead our global technical accounting strategy and reporting framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for global consolidations and external/debt reporting to investors, lenders, and stakeholders. This role requires a proactive leader to manage the audit process and work closely with auditors while setting accounting policies and guidance across US GAAP and IFRS.
The Director will also drive process improvements and standardization across accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Own the global technical accounting strategy and reporting framework.
- Lead global consolidations and external/debt reporting.
- Partner closely with auditors and manage the audit process.
- Set accounting policies and guidance across US GAAP and IFRS.
- Drive process improvements and standardization across accounting functions.
- Oversee GL, fixed assets, intercompany, and lease accounting across global entities in Canada, Europe, and Asia.
- Manage and develop two Accounting Managers and oversee a team of approximately 6–8 indirect reports.
Essential Skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- 10+ years of combined public and industry accounting experience.
- 3–5+ years of management experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Experience in large ($800M–$1B+) or global organizations.
- Experience with external debt reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Exposure to SAP/ERP implementation is beneficial.
- Experience in process improvement and transformation is desirable.
Work Environment
This role requires onsite work 5 days a week. The Director will manage two direct reports, which include accounting managers (one being a contractor due to SAP implementation), and oversee six indirect reports. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $201500.00/yr.
