About the opportunity:
The Development Intern supports Vail Health Foundation's fundraising and operational activities while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit events, benefactor relations, and communications. Reporting primarily to the Director of Benefactor Engagement Programs, this role works collaboratively with Foundation staff across multiple teams, offering exposure to how the Foundation operates and contributes to Vail Health's mission.
This internship will run from May through October 3, 2026. You will need to be in the office through October 3rd so returning to school in August won't be a fit.
What you will do:
* Assist with planning, coordination and execution of benefactor events throughout the summer season, and planning for events into the fall.
* Participate in the planning and completion of Foundation stewardship projects.
* Create custom written reports to individual benefactors and signage to recognize our benefactors' contributions.
* Participate in various Foundation meetings, including the Editorial Committee, Operations team meetings, staff meetings, and a staff retreat.
* Work collaborate with other members of the Foundation team while meeting deadlines.
* Work with a wide range of stakeholders, including benefactors, teammates, vendors, and others within and outside the organization.
* Update and maintain Foundation database.

What you will need:
Experience:
* Strong organizational and time‑management skills
* Interest in event planning and supporting onsite events.
* Interest in learning database systems, communication tools, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and basic design tools.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including up to 8 evening events during the summer, ability to work at local off‑site events.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively.
* Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
* Provides excellent customer service and brings positive energy.
* Self‑starter with strong initiative.
Education:
* Recently completed or be working toward an associate's or bachelor's degree. The desired candidate will not be enrolled in full-time education in the fall of 2026.
Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$20-$20 USD
