Location: Erie
The Planning and Development department is hiring for a Temporary Records Management Clerk.
This position is temporary and will not exceed nine (9) months.
We’re seeking a Temporary Records Management Clerk to join our Planning and Development Department and support our team with important clerical and records‑focused tasks. This role will take on several detail‑oriented projects designed to help the Town reach key goals and maintain smooth administrative operations.
All staff are expected to adhere to the Town’s mission, vision and values of TRUE.
Work Hours:
Management is flexible to accommodate a work schedule within normal business hours. Normal business hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with work performed on-site.

Salary Range:
Minimum: $19.64/hour Midpoint: $22.68/hour Maximum: $25.72/hour Posting Dates:06/04/2026 - 06/07/2026

Duties and Responsibilities:
The list below is intended to be illustrative of the responsibilities of the position and not all encompassing. Some specific tasks in this role may vary but will focus on retrieving physical records, reviewing and comparing file contents, and supporting the digitization of the physical department files and documents for streamlined tracking and access. The Town may change these duties at any time.
Review physical department records and compare them with existing electronic records.
Prepare physical/hard copy records for digitization.
Digitizes department and Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals records.
Migrates existing electronic files into the town’s permanent records repository (Laserfische).Organizes digitized records according to department protocols and records retention policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Solid attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated organizational and communications skills
Prior administrative, office or records management experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
Knowledge of:
Administrative skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed
General knowledge of records management practices.
General knowledge of office procedures, practices, and equipment.
Skills in:
Operation of office equipment such as copier, calculator, 10-keyWord processing and spreadsheets
Problem solving
Following and applying written and oral work instructions
Performing common mathematical operations
Environmental Factors:
Work is performed in a standard indoor office setting with climate control and overhead lighting, supplemented by some natural light. The work environment includes individual cubicle workstations, shared office equipment (e.g., copiers, printers, shredders), and a moderate level of background noise due to proximity to meeting and break rooms. Duties involve frequent use of a computer and telephone, extended screen time, and regular interaction with both internal staff and the public.
Tasks may include managing multiple priorities, working under deadlines, and shifting focus between customer service and administrative duties. Occasional travel between municipal buildings or off-site meetings may be required. Construction-related noise or vibration may occasionally be present due to ongoing building updates.
Physical Factors:
