Description
  • Hiring Range: $27.46 - $32.94. The max pay for this position is $38.45
  • This Community Development Administrative Coordinator position is responsible for providing administrative coordination for the Planning Division of the Community Development Department. This includes coordinating agendas, communicating with, and acting as clerk for the Roaring Fork Valley and Eagle County Planning Commissions, and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
  • Significant autonomy and resourcefulness is exercised daily in performing highly accountable, complex clerical, administrative, and front-line customer service duties in a time-sensitive manner. The Coordinator is expected to provide a valuable support role within an energetic, multifaceted environment, through daily collaboration with team members, self-initiative, and professional communication with the public.
  • Schedule:

    Monday-Friday 8am-5pm occasional evening meetings. A flexible work arrangement may be available after training.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Front-Line Customer Service: Provide exemplary, solutions-oriented service to the public, external agencies, and elected officials. You’ll help manage conflict calmly and collaboratively.
  • Planning Commission Administration: Act as the official clerk for multiple regional planning commissions and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Coordinate agendas, track public hearings, ensure voting quorums, manage candidate recruitment, and even order the meals for evening meetings.
  • Planning & Logistics Support: Coordinate weekly hearing calendars, schedule pre-application and community engagement meetings, conduct land use file intake, and notarize plat signatures.
  • Digital & Tech Management: Actively manage and update the Planning Department website, utilize GIS to look up property data, organize/digitize files, and assist with Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests.

    Collaboration:

    Cross-train with the Building and Engineering divisions to provide seamless front-desk coverage and support process improvement efforts alongside the Operations Program Manager.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 4+ years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience in a professional office environment (or an equivalent blend of education and experience).
  • Skills: Incredible organization, rock-solid record-keeping skills, and a website management background. Comfortable working independently and navigating complex public inquiries.
  • Licensure: A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required. Must hold a Notary Public Certification or be willing to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Business, Planning, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a local government planning office.
  • An Administrative Assistant Certification.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with document management systems (Laserfiche), permitting software (Ener Gov), or basic GIS queries will jump your application to the top of the pile.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) – highly desirable.
