The role is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing public interaction, project coordination, and regulatory processes in a collaborative government setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine applications, permits, and supporting materials to confirm completeness, accuracy, and timely movement through established processes.
  • Manage grant-funded and departmental projects by tracking milestones, communicating with applicants, and monitoring compliance requirements.
  • Develop meeting agendas, staff reports, presentation materials, minutes, and official correspondence for boards, commissions, and public sessions.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support during advisory board and commission meetings, including follow-up on assigned action items.
  • Perform site visits and field observations to document project conditions and support planning, development, and preservation activities.
  • Advise residents, business owners, and contractors on applicable land use regulations, zoning procedures, and preservation standards.
  • Maintain organized records for projects, contracts, invoices, budgets, and departmental files while supporting reporting and long-range planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, stakeholders, and partner agencies on special initiatives and departmental priorities as assigned.
