Are You?
- 4-8 years of experience in sales or business development in telecom, construction, or infrastructure services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and results driven.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as or similar.
- Ability to learn technical concepts related to fiber optics, splicing, and installation.
- Comfortable with cold outreach and high‑volume prospecting.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field is preferred.
As our first Business Development hire, you will help define how we grow—building the relationships, strategies, and systems that connect us to our next wave of partners and customers. We’re hiring a Director of Business Development to lead go‑to‑market outreach, partner development, and sales pipeline creation. You will work directly with the CEO, sales team, and operations team to identify new business opportunities, pursue accounts with our ideal client profiles, and shape our growth roadmap from the ground up.
WhatYou Will Do
- Identify, target, and develop new business relationships with our ideal clients: ISPs, Municipalities, infrastructure GC’s, and power companies.
- Prospect, pitch, and close partnership deals.
- Maintain accurate records on CRM to track leads, pipeline velocity, and customer interactions.
- Attend industry conferences and networking events to represent Backbone Fiber.
- Develop RFP and bid responses in collaboration with operations.
- Collaborate with leadership on pricing, marketing, and long‑term account strategy.
- Attend site visits with Project Managers to stay up to date on the services we provide to our customers.
- Help define processes for lead gen, contract negotiation, and post‑sale handoff.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and product knowledge.
- Help connect communities to high‑speed technology with innovative fiber optic solutions.
