Communications Intern
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change.
The position is based in the El Salvador office and reports directly to the Senior Assistant of Communications. At this level, the holder assumes responsibility for carrying out a series of communication processes and activities.
The purpose of the position is to provide comprehensive support to the Communications Unit in the management, design, and production of digital and audiovisual content, as well as in the formulation of creative proposals and support in visibility activities. All this with the objective of effectively positioning, documenting, and disseminating the impact of the World Food Programme's mandate of "Saving Lives and Changing Lives" in El Salvador.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in brainstorming, design, and writing content proposals for WFP Country Office social media and the institutional account.
- Provide support in the registration of publication data, assisting in the preparation of inputs for monthly performance reports.
- Assist in the review and creative adaptation of global and regional campaign materials for the local audience.
Audiovisual production and field coverage
- Support in the design of basic graphic pieces and the editing of short videos or dynamic formats for digital platforms.
- Provide logistical and technical support in the taking of photographs or videos during official events and field visits.
Note:
Missions within the country will be coordinated in advance to avoid interfering with class schedules or university evaluations.
Editorial and operational support
- Develop professional skills by supporting in the translation of documents (Spanish/English) and in the writing of short informative notes or texts of the unit.
- Assist the team in daily operational and logistical tasks specific to the communications area.
- Collaborate in the reception and channeling of support requests from other areas, promoting teamwork and institutional service.
