Architects — Captain & Senior Project Architect

BG Architecture & Design | Roaring Fork Valley, CO | 6-Month Initial Contract

BG Architecture & Design is seeking experienced contract architects to support an active slate of high‑end residential and mixed‑use projects throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. We are looking to bring on skilled professionals for an initial 6‑month engagement, with strong potential for extension based on project needs and mutual fit.

This is a 1099 contract position — ideal for an independent architect who wants flexible, project‑based work without full‑time commitment.

Rate: $55–$95/hour
, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

• Produce comprehensive design development and construction documentation sets
• Coordinate drawings across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines
• Manage day‑to‑day technical delivery on assigned projects under the direction of a Project Architect or Principal
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawing sets and specifications
• Support permitting submittals and respond to jurisdictional comments (local municipal, HOA, and historic district review as applicable)

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional architectural experience
• Proficiency in Revit required;
  AutoCAD and Twinmotion a plus
• Experience with high‑end custom residential or resort/hospitality projects preferred
• Familiarity with mountain‑market construction conditions (steep‑slope sites, wildfire mitigation, snow load, historic overlay) a strong plus
• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines in a remote or hybrid contract capacity

Rate: $70–$120/hour

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project delivery required for one or more custom residential or mixed‑use projects
• Serve as primary technical point of contact on assigned projects
• Manage project schedules, scope, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and local jurisdictions

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional architectural experience, including project leadership
• Architectural license required
• Deep experience with luxury residential, hospitality, or resort‑market projects
• Strong working knowledge of Roaring Fork Valley jurisdictions a significant plus
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead a project team

  Remote or hybrid; occasional in‑person presence in the Roaring Fork Valley preferred for site visits and team coordination
