Our well-established and highly regarded Cardiothoracic Surgery program in Colorado Springs, CO is adding a full-time Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing personalized, evidence-based patient care at the highest level.

Work and Schedule- Overnight 4/10 schedule for better work life balance
- Managing the Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery CVICU and floor patients
- Fielding outpatient phone calls from post-operative patients
- The in-house APP manages in-house call from 8:30pm-6:30am
- CVICU is covered by dual-trained anesthesiologist/cardiac intensivist, 7 days/week, 24/7 (not in-house in the evenings)
- Management of overnight CVICU/floor patients
- Participate in multi-disciplinary care planning and quality assurance initiatives
- Provide direct care, counseling, history and physical examinations, and teaching to the adult cardiac surgical patient population in the inpatient setting
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic findings
- Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational policies and procedures
- Provide high quality and timely documentation
- Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population
- Discuss patient data with other physicians and professionals in a multidisciplinary setting
- Demonstrate expert clinical judgment to function in an independent role
- Complete continuing medical education as per state regulations and national registry requirements
- Additional duties as required by the department/division

Requirements Physician Assistants- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Colorado
- PA-C certification issued by NCCPA and maintained
- Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed
- Eligible to provide services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid
- Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA
- Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges
- Prescriptive authority as appropriate
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Full or provisional prescriptive authority eligibility; apply for prescriptive authority as a condition of employment
- Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited NP program
- NP certification issued by ANCC or AANPCB and maintained
- Unrestricted NP license in state of practice or compact privileges
- Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges
- Full prescriptive authority
- Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed
- Eligible to provide services with Medicare and Medicaid
- Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Competitive compensation: pay range $115,000 - $150,765 plus 10% overnight differential
