Locums - Frisco, Colorado General Surgery Trauma Call Coverage (IMLC Accepted)

Position Overview:

High-impact General Surgery opportunity at a busy Level III Trauma facility serving both a strong local population and millions of annual visitors. This role is ideal for surgeons comfortable with independent trauma call in a geographically unique mountain setting that can become weather-isolated.

Coverage Dates:

• March 14-16

• April 21-22

• April 30

• Ongoing need: 4-10 shifts per month

• All shifts: 24-hour call (7:00am-7:00am), ending the following morning at 7:00am

Assignment Details:

• Setting:
  Inpatient trauma call

• Trauma Level III facility

• 13-bed hospital

• Census/Admissions: 0-6 per shift

• Patient population:
  Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric

• No support staff

• Reason for coverage:
  Gaps in coverage

Facility Overview:

• Serves a local population of 60,000

• Supports approximately 4 million annual visitors

• Five ski resorts feed into the hospital system

• Busy trauma environment with potential for single-coverage responsibility

Clinical Expectations:

• Prepared for independent trauma call and surgical coverage

• Comfortable with weather-related geographic isolation

• Must meet minimum of 50 General Surgery/Trauma cases in the last 2 years

EMR & Onboarding Requirements:

• EMR:
  Epic

• Credentialing pre-application and full application required to initiate training

• AD account creation may take up to 5 days

• EMR modules must be completed prior to virtual training

• Virtual EMR (PPL) training must be completed at least one week prior to first shift

• First day details released only after completion of all EMR requirements

Requirements:

• Board Certified in General Surgery - Required

• Active Colorado license or Active IMLC (LOQ in hand at submission) - Required

• Active ATLS - Required

• Active DEA - Highly Preferred and required for credentialing

  • March start candidates must have DEA available for transfer

  • DEA must remain active for duration of assignment

• Minimum of 50 General Surgery/Trauma cases in last 2 years - Required
