SUMMARY:
The Secondary ELA Teacher creates a dynamic classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth. The teacher establishes positive rapport with students, motivates them to develop critical literacy skills, and fosters personal growth in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The teacher is committed to ensuring that students meet or exceed State and local standards and provides targeted, differentiated instruction based on students' abilities

* Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet State standards and individual student needs.
* Use a variety of instructional strategies (e.g., direct instruction, collaborative learning, project-based learning) to address diverse student abilities in 7th-12th grade.
* Develop assessments aligned with curriculum goals and standards, and use results to guide instruction.
* Differentiate instruction to support all learners, including ELL, SPED, gifted, and diverse learners, ensuring inclusion of all students.

* Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and active participation.
* Guide students in developing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through relevant, real-world applications.
* Regularly evaluate students' academic progress and provide timely, constructive feedback on written and oral assignments.
* Participate in professional learning communities, using a data driven instructional approach.

* Administer formative and summative assessments to measure student progress in reading comprehension, writing skills, and other language arts competencies.
* Adjust lesson plans and instructional strategies based on assessment results, providing individualized support as needed.

EDUCATION AND RELATED
WORK EXPERIENCE:
* Required:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
