POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Aide Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that prepares students with the knowledge and skills required for safe, entry-level practice in health care settings. The role includes teaching course content through lecture, lab, and clinical modalities. The instructor develops lesson plans and assessments aligned with program competencies and evaluates student performance. This position maintains accurate records, supports program operations, and follows all CCA guidelines and regulatory requirements for nurse aide education.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide in-class, lab, and clinical instruction for nurse aide students using approved curriculum and instructional methods that supports the program learning outcomes.

* Prepare and deliver lessons and assessments aligned with course competencies.

* Clearly communicate course objectives, expectations, and grading criteria.

* Support student learning through timely feedback and skill remediation.

* Maintain accurate attendance, grading and competency records in accordance with college and regulatory requirements.

* Submit grades, no-shows, and required documentation by established deadlines.

* Ensure all instruction, skills assessments, and clinical evaluations meet Colorado Nurse Aide Training Program requirements.

* Maintain current nursing license and required instructor credentials.

* Follow all CCA and program guidelines related to instruction, documentation, and student expectations.

* Participate in required meetings; program and CCA trainings; and assessment activities.

* Collaborate with the Lead Faculty and Department Chair to support program quality and student success initiatives.

* Provide professional communication and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and clinical partners.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations to ensure safe and compliant practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Hold an active unencumbered professional nursing license or an active unencumbered practical nursing license.

* Have at least two (2) years of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age.

* Have completed a course in teaching adults (e.g., Train the Trainer) or have documented experience in teaching adults or have one (1) year experience in managing nurse aides.

* Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado State Career Technical Education Teaching Credential.

* Includes two (2) years/4,000 hours or equivalent of professional clinical experience within the last 5 years.

* Ability to communicate effectively, building strong relationships with students, faculty, and CCA's community partners.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

* Two years of teaching experience in didactic, lab, clinical, or skill-based instruction.

* Experience with curriculum delivery using online or hybrid instructional tools.
