Pay: $185.00 per day

Benefits: PERA retirement.

Required credentials:
Valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement:
    • Course content, format, structure, and schedule.
    • Individualized programs of instruction for students.
    • Classroom materials and curriculum.
    • Lesson plans and learning activities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one situations.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
  • Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and well‑being of students and administer discipline when appropriate.
  • Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation on academic, social, and emotional progress.
  • Communicate students’ progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate:
    • With teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
    • With colleagues in team and building‑based meetings and discussions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to:
    • Understanding, appreciating, and accommodating student diversity.
    • Including and engaging families in the student’s education.
    • Supporting all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations.
    • Providing personal and professional excellence.
  • Participate:
    • Department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions.
    • Student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
    • Social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.

  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
    • Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
    Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
    • Criminal background check required for hire.
    • Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
    • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.

    Materials and Equipment Operating Knowledge
    • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
    • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Operating knowledge of typical educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.
    • Operating knowledge of office equipment.
    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

    The role requires full participation in the classroom, including standing, walking, lifting, and using a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to meet these demands.
