Position: 9-Month Nursing Faculty
Location: Aurora

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community College of Aurora invites applications for a Nursing Faculty position. This Nursing Faculty member will be an essential part of the nursing program and the students' educational experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for student success as well as high-quality, effective, engaging, inclusive, and student-centered instruction. The Nursing program is committed to quality instruction through high academic standards, high student support, and a strong commitment to student engagement and success.

Faculty in this position will utilize this framework to make complex concepts accessible to students through curriculum development, evidence-based instruction, student outcomes assessment, and ongoing program evaluation. Faculty duties include teaching and service as guided by SP 3-31. Teaching responsibilities include the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. Teaching responsibilities are aligned with individual, department, school, and college goals.

In order to ensure the success of our diverse student population, faculty members maintain a commitment to high-quality instruction, student-centered philosophies, and the ongoing pursuit of excellence through professional development. Service can include, but is not limited to, curriculum coordination and development; clinical oversight; advising and outreach; system, college-wide and campus committee work; sponsoring and participating in student activities; and attendance at college activities and events.

This is a 9-month contract paid over 12 months adhering to a typical college schedule.

* Facilitates learning in the various settings to include didactic, clinical, simulation, or skills lab, evaluating learner achievement.

* Attends faculty meetings and participates in committees that support the mission of the nursing program and College.

* Engages in professional development.

* Maintain instructional quality by staying current with discipline-specific trends and pedagogical advancements.

Instructional Excellence

* Deliver organized, enthusiastic instruction that reflects mastery of the subject matter.

Instructional Development & Quality

* Lead the development, review, and revision of curriculum, course outlines, and syllabi.

* Assist with the semester class schedule, college catalog updates, and textbook selection.

* Participate in program reviews and accreditation processes.

* Maintain program advisory committee to ensure industry and discipline relevance.

Curriculum and Assessment

* Develop and update syllabi and course materials to ensure relevancy and compliance with state and nursing accreditation guidelines.

* Design evaluation methods and supplemental resources that align directly with course objectives.

* Lead and participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes (SLOs) for the nursing program.
