Position: Special Education Teacher in Longmont, CO
Location: Longmont

Step into an engaging educational environment as a Special Education Teacher supporting preschool-aged learners in a vibrant, inclusive school setting. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to lead both morning and afternoon sessions as the main classroom teacher, with supportive paraprofessional staff and collaboration from occupational and speech therapy providers. You'll manage a welcoming classroom, serving up to 18 children per session while focusing individualized support on up to 10 students as their case manager and direct service provider.

Key Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Early Childhood Special Educator (ECSE) license from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) required
  • Experience teaching and managing early childhood special education caseloads strongly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists
  • Skilled at coordinating IEPs, conducting assessments, and maintaining thorough documentation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Act as lead teacher for morning and afternoon preschool sessions
  • Provide specialized instruction and case management for up to 10 students with ECSE services
  • Oversee and mentor two classroom paraprofessionals
  • Work seamlessly with OT and SLP professionals providing services in the classroom
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored for preschool students with a range of developmental needs
  • Track student progress and contribute to IEP meetings and reporting
  • Create a supportive environment that nurtures every child's growth
