Position Summary
The Preschool Paraprofessional provides support to the Lead Teacher. This role helps ensure the smooth functioning of the program and supports children directly.
Key Responsibilities- Support lessons with groups of children from three through six years of age.
- Support a safe, high quality learning environment.
- Supervise students both indoors and outdoors.
- Supervise classrooms for teachers’ lunch breaks and plan time.
- Use positive classroom management strategies.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Coaching, observations and goal setting.
- Participate in Colorado Shines Quality rating process every three years.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Establish and maintain a current account on the Professional Development Information System (PDIS). Complete annual in-service hours as required by the Colorado Office of Early Childhood.
- Is familiar with and follows all Colorado Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.
- 1-3 years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
- Ability to maintain a minimum of a valid Level 2 Credential through Colorado Shines PDIS.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when needed.
- Professionalism in both communication and presentation.
- Demonstrates understanding of confidentiality with student, family, staff, and preschool records.
- Ability to bend, kneel and sit on the floor.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
