The Permanent Substitute Teacher may cover multiple classroom blocks or other assigned variable duties throughout the workday. Responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher being substituted and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in laws and policies. Works effectively with a team of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents, and District office staff to provide quality educational services for each student.

• Path 1 – Alternative Licensure:
  Bachelor's degree, enroll in an online alternative licensure program.
• Path 2 – Long Term Substitute:
  Only requires a substitute license with on‑the‑job training.
• Path 3 – Apprentice Teacher of Record:
  Opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree while receiving on‑the‑job training through the Colorado Department of Education and Department of Labor partnership.
