Job Description

Project Dream seeks a part‑time Site Assistant to support after school, Friday, and special event programs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal from Lake County Intermediate School during programs.
  • Facilitate food service, including data recording and meal requests.
  • Manage roster and routes for regular transportation routes.
  • Record student attendance for all programs.
  • Follow LCSD building management and emergency response procedures to maintain student safety.
  • Communicate concerns to the Project Dream Administrative Team regarding students, families, and staff.
  • Provide student supervision as needed, including substitute activity leader duties.
  • Perform administrative tasks delegated by the OST Director (e.g., printing documents, supplies deliveries, data entry).
  • Follow the action step protocols for behavioral concerns outlined in the LCSD Project Dream Staff Handbook.
  • Operate the LCSD activity bus in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations of the LCSD transportation department as required.
Schedule
  • After school (Mon–Thu): 2:30‑3:30 pm site preparation; 3:30‑6:00 pm programs.
  • Fridays: 7:30‑7:45 am site preparation; 7:45 am‑3:30 pm programs.

Programs run from August 17 2026 to June 3 2027.

Compensation

$25 per hour, dependent on certification and scope of work.

Working Hours

Approximately 24 hours per week; hours vary by agreement.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational education.
  • Ability to pass a background check required by the district.
  • Commitment to one full school year of programming.
  • Prior experience working with students in an academic and/or extracurricular setting.
  • Enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to students’ interests.
  • Patience and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new techniques to connect with students.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands

The role requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and frequent walking and balancing. The role also requires communication skills, interpersonal skills, and mental tasks such as analyzing, coordinating, computing, evaluating, and synthesizing.
