K–12 Student Success Coordinator

The K–12 Student Success Coordinator is a district-level certificated/licensed professional responsible for leading and coordinating comprehensive college, career, and student-success systems K–12 with a primary focus on grades 6–12. The Coordinator provides direct student guidance, develops and implements sequential post-secondary and career curricula and pathways, assists with state-required reporting and records, coordinates transition and wraparound services, builds community and employer partnerships, manages related platforms and data systems, and advances equitable post-secondary outcomes for students in our rural district.

Essential Requirements:
Deep knowledge of secondary graduation requirements, post-secondary pathways (college, community/technical college, apprenticeships, trade programs, military, direct employment), CTE/dual-enrollment systems, and Colorado Department of Education guidelines (including CDE's "Big Three" and Graduation Guidelines). Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with building principals, curriculum teams, district staff, and community partners. Proficiency with student information and program management systems (Power School, Otus, Xello, or comparable platforms), data analysis and reporting, and standard office productivity tools.

Strong organizational, communication, and event coordination skills; ability to manage multiple projects, calendars, and logistical details. Commitment to confidentiality (FERPA), equity, cultural responsiveness, family engagement, and rural community needs. Willingness to pursue funding opportunities, assist with grant/scholarship writing, and represent the district at community and professional events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Lead development, refinement, and district wide implementation of the district's "Profile of a Learner" in collaboration with administrators, curriculum teams, counselors, teachers, families, and community partners. Design, implement, and maintain a coherent, sequential post-secondary and career readiness curriculum and pathway for grades 6–12, incorporating career exploration, academic planning, employability skills, college/work readiness, and transition planning. In coordination with building administrators, create and manage student courses/pathways and related experiential opportunities.

Advise administration and curriculum teams on graduation requirements and ensure curriculum offerings meet state standards and district learner profile goals.

Staff Support and Scheduling:
Collaborate with building principals and administrators to develop master calendars, coordinate program schedules (advisory, CTE, dual-enrollment, work-based learning), and integrate services across buildings. Assist teachers and administrators with mid-semester enrollments, credit evaluations, schedules, course selection policies, and integration of incoming students.

Direct Student and Family Services:
Provide individual and small-group college, career, and academic counseling; develop and maintain Graduation Plans; advise on course selection, schedule changes, drops, credit recovery, and graduation planning. Lead and implement orientation programs for transitioning 5th graders and new students to Hemphill Middle school as well as for 8th graders and new students entering Strasburg High School. Guide students and families through post-secondary pathways (two-year and four-year colleges, community and technical colleges, apprenticeship programs, trade schools, military, and direct employment).

Assist with post-secondary applications, resumes, job applications, and scholarship searches; plan and lead FAFSA/financial aid workshops and other college/career preparation events and college tours. Support AP, SAT/ACT preparation programs and coordinate college-entrance preparation resources as needed.

Work-Based Learning, CTE, and Postsecondary Partnerships:
Coordinate and expand work-based learning opportunities (internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, cooperative education) and manage articulation agreements for CTE and dual enrollment.…
