Requirements:
- Current valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement
- Prior teaching experience in vocal music at the middle or high school level is preferred
- Experience in directing choirs or vocal ensembles is desirable
- Fingerprint/background screening required
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience and willingness to coach athletics and/or be a faculty sponsor of activities preferred
- Develop and deliver engaging vocal music lessons that focus on vocal technique, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills.
- Create and implement a comprehensive vocal music curriculum that includes a range of musical genres and styles.
- Plan and prepare for concerts, recitals, and other vocal performances.
- Inspire and motivate students to develop their vocal skills and passion for music.
- Provide individual and group instruction tailored to different skill levels and abilities.
- Evaluate student progress through auditions, performances, and assessments.
- Offer feedback and support to help students improve their vocal techniques and achieve their musical goals.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to support a focused and collaborative learning atmosphere.
- Organize and lead school choirs, vocal ensembles, and other musical performances.
- Coordinate with other music educators and school staff to schedule and prepare for these events.
- Stay current with best practices in vocal music education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and other music-related activities.
- Work with colleagues to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and participate in school committees and events as needed.
- Collaborates with colleagues to develop creative and innovative instruction that include best practices within the performing arts.
- Cooperation with Building Administration, District Administration and staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies, open house, parent meetings and seasonal programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
