Description
Early Head Start Teacher
Location: Starpoint’s SPIN Early Childhood Care and Education Center, 1339 Elm Avenue, Cañon City, CO 81212
Position Type: Full-Time
About the PositionWe are seeking a caring, energetic, and qualified Early Head Start Teacher to provide high-quality early childhood education services for infants and toddlers ages 0–3. The successful candidate will create a nurturing learning environment that promotes school readiness, supports family engagement, and follows Head Start Performance Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Foster children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development.
- Conduct ongoing child assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging classroom environment.
- Partner with families to support children's growth and development.
- Participate in home visits, parent conferences, and family engagement activities.
- Ensure compliance with Early Head Start, state licensing, and agency requirements.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, specialists, and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Infant/Toddler Development; OR
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with Infant/Toddler endorsement and willingness to continue education. OR
- PDIS Level 3 or higher with the willingness to pursue Associates or CDA
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet Colorado licensing requirements.
