Paraprofessional - Special Education 1:1
This position requires a solid understanding and ability to demonstrate reading, writing, and math skills. The ability to take advice regarding ways of helping students meet his/her IEP goals is essential to this position. This position requires a caring, focused, and responsible disposition while working closely with a small number of Severe Needs students. Day-to-day duties will include: small-group teaching, 1-on-1 pull-out and in-class support as it pertains to specific student needs.
Work with teachers to appropriately modify assignments as needed. Assisting students with testing accommodations during classroom, district, state, and national assessments. This position also includes some school duties such as playground or lunchroom duty.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 year associate's degree or 2 years of verifiable college course work (48 semester hours) OR the ability to successfully pass the Work Keys proficiency test
- Licensed as registered Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Colorado
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications - or ability to certify
- Ability to become CPI Restraint Trained
- Preference given to individuals who have taken classes in education and/or successfully demonstrated their ability to work with young children
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License
