Pay Range:
Licensed Salary Schedule, $63,301 - $128,842 Annual Salary

Calendar: 190 Days

School Design Overview:
Adventure Elementary is a dual language enrichment school where students are exposed to rigorous academics, learn to think critically, and demonstrate real-world understanding. Learning experiences and service-learning projects actively engage Adventure students in their education. What makes Adventure unique is that we offer all students the opportunity to become proficient in English and Spanish. All students participate in Crew meetings every morning.

Crew is a sacred part of the day in which students and teachers build community within their rooms so that every child feels important and connected to a trusted adult and each other. Qualifications:

Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Elementary endorsement required. Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. English Learner Professional Development Designation required; (or willingness to pursue required coursework. K-3 teachers must provide documentation of evidence-based literacy training, Read Act Designation, per CDE requirements. Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish required.

(Must be able to read, write, and speak in both languages fluently) Background in bilingual education and/or language acquisition preferred.

Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
Applicants need to be highly motivated, flexible, dedicated, and creative to promote a positive climate and culture. Willingness and ability to meet the diverse needs of learners (including special education, at-risk, linguistically, and culturally diverse) by adjusting curriculum and working cooperatively with other staff through inclusion. Commitments and competencies in using a variety of instructional deliveries include, but are not limited to, cooperative learning, multi-sensory reading, and math.

Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to a standards-based system of designing and delivering instruction and assessment. Will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate, solve problems. Designs instructional intervention that is clearly focused on the standards and assessments established by the District and the State. Provides expanded opportunities and support for learner success. Demonstrates and models high expectations for all students to succeed.

Aligns all instruction with and designs instructional interventions with State and local standards and assessments. Establishes and maintains strong classroom management. Utilizes a variety of teaching styles to accommodate student-learning needs. Knowledgeable and experienced in administering a variety of assessments. Demonstrated ability to work with a team approach. Demonstrated ability to write quality IEPs, including goals and benchmarks based on assessments and needs.

Flexibility around IEP meeting times. Previous training in KAPLAN, ECAR, and ECAW preferred.

Education/Training:
Special Education staff are hired and assigned to schools and programs based on the level and type of student needs. Special Education assignments may require training from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) on non-verbal de-escalation and physical restraint. The District will provide the training/certification at no-cost to the employee and in accordance with Board Policy. New employees in assignments in which CPI is required will attend training within 30-45 days of their start date and will be required to attend a refresher course every 18-24 months.
