Position: Special Education Teacher - Idaho Springs, CO
Location: Idaho Springs

Located close to the beautiful area near Idaho Springs, this contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a flexible weekday schedule Monday through Thursday.

As a Special Education Teacher specializing in autism support, you'll provide individualized instruction and foster a welcoming learning environment that encourages every student to thrive. This role is ideal for educators who value collaboration, creativity, and a student-centered approach.

Qualifications
  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification and credentials, or eligibility to obtain them
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students with autism at the elementary level
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create adapted instructional materials and use evidence-based strategies
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with autism
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust approaches as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated care
  • Create a positive classroom climate that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings
