Position Overview

Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a 2nd Grade Teacher at Lewis-Palmer Elementary School beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The first day for teachers new to our district is July 31 2026.

Qualifications

Candidates must have, or be eligible to receive, a current Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement and meet CDE READ Act requirements. Applicants should have a solid foundation in literacy and a genuine understanding of the developmental needs of early elementary students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using the Benchmark Workshop and Everyday Math curriculums. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, a willingness to be a team player, and strong collaboration and communication skills, working well with colleagues and partnering closely with families to support student success.

Pay

Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting. As a guideline, we offer up to 18 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 19, per school board policy. The pay range is $44,550 to $75,279.

All employees are eligible for participation in the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Account (PERA). Full-time employees, employed at least thirty hours per week, are eligible for health insurance plans that include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Lewis-Palmer provides one plan at no cost to the individual, and employees may choose from additional options. Paid leave is accrued in accordance with district policies and afforded to all eligible positions in accordance with Colorado law.
