Postsecondary Workforce Readiness Specialist

Summary:
The Postsecondary Workforce Readiness Specialist (PWRS) is a resource and guide for high school students as they develop, pursue, and complete meaningful postsecondary pathways aligned to their interests and regional workforce needs. This position serves as a liaison between secondary education, postsecondary institutions, workforce systems, and employers to ensure every student graduates with a plan for postsecondary education, training, military service, and/or employment.
This position supports the completion of students' Individual Career and Academic Plans.

Educations and Related
Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred or demonstrated work experience that includes developing strong partnerships with businesses, industry, and community partners. Experience working with high school students, postsecondary institutions, and/or workforce systems to manage concurrent enrollment and/or work-base learning systems is preferred. Knowledge of postsecondary pathways, including college, career training, apprenticeships, and workforce credentials is preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Bilingual preferred.
Licenses, Registrations or
Certifications:
Criminal background check required for hire. Must possess, or be able to obtain from, or be in process with, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a valid Colorado Educator License applicable for this position within 30 days of hire and possess the ability to obtain a valid, Colorado CTE Work Based Learning Coordinator credential within one year of hire. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Colorado CTE Work Based Learning Coordinator credential.
Salary Information (for external candidates):
Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees' education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee.
