Location: Silverthorne
Elementary School Counselor
Summit School District is seeking a 1.0 Elementary School Counselor to support students at Silverthorne Elementary School as part of the school's coordinated student support team. This is a grant funded, interim position and will serve as the second counselor at Silverthorne Elementary.
The Elementary School Counselor supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students. Working as part of a coordinated student support team, this role delivers direct counseling services, supports school wide systems of behavior and wellness, and partners with teachers and families to help every student thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and contribute to a positive, consistent school wide culture.
- Support teachers in the delivery of universal social emotional curriculum in the classroom setting.
- Deliver supplemental lessons to classrooms to reinforce social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Provide individual counseling to students referred for support.
- Facilitate small group counseling to address shared student needs.
- Support a diverse student population, responding to a wide range of academic, cultural, linguistic, and social emotional needs.
- Collaborate closely with school administration, the coordinated student support team, and the school's other counselor to ensure aligned and consistent support for students.
- Partner with families and coordinate with school staff and community resources to connect students to appropriate levels of support.
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) special service provider (SSP) license as a School Counselor, School Psychologist, or School Social Worker, or the ability to obtain.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.

Salary: SSP 185 Days Salary Scale
