High Point Academy is a public charter school serving students in preschool through 8th grade. Located in Aurora, CO, just north of Green Valley Ranch, HPA serves an ethnically diverse student population which includes 27% linguistically diverse students and 60% of our students qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch. Position Summary:

The Dean of Students is entrusted with advancing the mission of the school through enforcing school wide culture and behavioral expectations and ensuring a safe school environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. The Dean of Students will work closely with the school's administrative team and teachers to ensure that all students make gains in student achievement while living the school's core values.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Dean of Students collaborates to lead a school-wide culture that is rooted in Habits of Work and Learning and Leader in Me Habits of Highly Effective People.

1. Develops, trains, maintains, and evaluates both proactive and reactive systems and routines that build the HPA culture to be a safe, affirming, and healing place for our students and staff. The Dean establishes and cultivates a culture that is committed to living our core values/habits of work and learning and promotes and discusses these habits every day, within and beyond classrooms.

2. Build collaborative relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff in order to assist each student in achieving his/her highest potential.

3. Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies and state laws; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, community agencies, and law enforcement.

4. Create a school-wide culture that supports positive student behaviors that lead to increased academic outcomes for students.

5. Proactive/Preventative Engagement

6. Implement school-wide restorative justice and trauma informed practices that develop a positive school culture for the whole child.

7. Provide Supervision and Evaluation feedback that results in an increase in positive school culture.

8. Support High Point Academy's Purpose, Vision, and Annual Goals

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Restorative Justice training required. CPI training preferred. Experience with middle school advisory program/elementary morning meeting. At least 2 - 5 years of education experience with the appropriate age range. Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of school. Strong track record of success in building student and parent relationships. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
