WES Instructional Paraprofessional (Technology) – Job Description
Wray School District invites applicants for the position of Instructional Paraprofessional (Technology). This role supports students and staff with instructional activities and administrative tasks. The following outlines responsibilities, qualifications, and terms of employment.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with students is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about all aspects of the students, their progress, and parental information
- Basic language, math and writing skills; must pass ACT Work Keys Applied Math and Business Writing exams or have 48+ college credit hours at an accredited college/university
- Knowledge of general office equipment preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training preferred or willing to train
- CPR training preferred or willing to train
- May be required to obtain a Substitute Authorization from CDE
The Instructional Paraprofessional is a special position within the district that requires confidentiality, patience, a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to give positive feedback for small accomplishments as they are gained by the students daily.
Responsibilities- Work directly with students, as assigned by the building principal
- Follow directions from the supervising teacher(s) and building principal
- Read and assist students with assignments as deemed necessary by the supervising teacher/principal
- Prepare instructional artwork and visual aids (posters, bulletin boards, displays, charts)
- Administer or assist with tests and grade papers
- Monitor student behavior on playground during lunch and recess
- Document student achievement and behavior
- Serve as a professional role model and act accordingly
- Record work completed by students and provide records to the supervising teacher and building principal
- Communicate effectively with the supervising teacher, parents, and building principal as deemed appropriate
- Make referrals about concerns to appropriate staff members within the district
- Foster and maintain a professional relationship with co-workers
- Arrive and depart at predetermined times as determined by the building principal and/or supervising teacher
- Help maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the classroom and school building
- Assist in typing, operating office equipment (copier), organizing teaching materials, and assisting with grades and reports as required
- Maintain daily contact with colleagues, students, and parents to provide service
- Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or designee
- Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. May stand, walk, and sit; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Working Environment: Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; the noise level is usually moderate.
- Mental Functions: Regularly required to analyze, communicate, and use interpersonal skills; frequently required to coordinate, instruct, compute and compile; occasionally required to synthesize, evaluate and negotiate.

EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually by the building principal following the evaluation criteria as written in the RD-2 Policy Manual.
