Job Description
Full time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.
The successful candidate supports the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of Bridge courses, including English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), Adult High School Diploma (AHSD), and English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and related transition/pathway courses. The role focuses on student access, retention, persistence, and successful progression through Bridge programs, while strengthening connections to college, career, and community pathways.
This position also supports the development of career-connected Bridge courses based on local workforce needs. This position may include teaching at night, on weekends, online, and at multiple campus locations.
Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include teaching course load as assigned, evaluating courses, assessing student learning, meeting established course, program and learning outcomes, complying with guidelines and policies, maintaining office hours per established standards, developing rapport with students, assisting with and participating in advising, orientation, and registration activities.
CMC Faculty are generally expected to engage in scholarly endeavors as well as service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:
Master's Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, English, Adult Education, Developmental Education, Education, or other degree with 18 graduate credits in TESOL required. Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) required, or willingness to obtain within three years. Minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or the equivalent as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience and knowledge of a language other than English required.
Experience needed in a variety of teaching delivery modes including online. Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility and collegiality are essential.
Course delivery may include a mix of live in-person/livestream, hybrid asynchronous/synchronous, and with the use of video-conferenced software modalities available to students throughout the College district. The successful incumbent has experience in a various instructional modalities using a learning management system (LMS) like Canvas.

Salary range: $82,299.59 - $ annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience.
Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
