Elementary Academic And Behavior Interventionist
The elementary academic and behavior interventionist implements a school program which encourages a positive learning environment and supports The Classical Academy's mission statement and core values. The interventionist will assist students in their academic progress while providing a range of social, emotional, and behavioral interventions as needed.
Essential job functions include supporting students' academic preparedness, assisting classroom teachers, coordinating completion of assignments, observing students, building relationships, analyzing student performance, working with students in one-on-one or small group situations, developing social, emotional, and behavioral supports, modeling virtuous character traits, supporting curriculum, attending meetings, and performing other duties as required.
Minimum qualifications include experience in a school setting, a bachelor's degree, meeting TCA requirements for a highly qualified elementary teacher, a master's degree preferred, a minimum of three years teaching experience, specific training in providing academic and behavioral student support, and various knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The job requires contact with students, parents, volunteers, tutors, support staff, peers, and supervisors, and is generally performed in a classroom setting with occasional supervision duties. Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, balancing, sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and interpersonal communication.
