SUMMARY OF
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is an integral part of school improvement efforts, as aligned to our Unified Improvement Plan's Major Improvement Strategy centered around decreasing chronic absenteeism and truancy. In addition, the School Improvement Coordinator provides leadership in developing and implementing school-wide systems that support student achievement through effective intervention practices and assessment management. This position coordinates Battle Mountain High School's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and READ Act processes while serving as the school assessment coordinator for all state, district, and local assessments.
Working collaboratively with administrators, counselors, teachers, interventionist, special education staff, and district personnel, the coordinator ensures that data are used effectively to identify student needs, monitor interventions, improve instructional practices, and maintain compliance with Colorado assessment and accountability requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Coordinate and facilitate the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of student intervention plans.
- Coordinate the READ Act process and ensure compliance with Colorado requirements.
- Facilitate regular MTSS meetings and data reviews.
- Analyze universal screening and progress-monitoring data.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special education staff, interventionist, and administrators to identify students requiring additional support.
- Monitor fidelity of intervention implementation.
- Assist teams in selecting evidence-based interventions.
- Support school improvement efforts through data analysis.
- Provide professional learning related to MTSS, intervention practices, and data use.
- Maintain documentation required for MTSS and READ plans.
- Coordinate all state, federal, district, and school-required assessments.
- Manage annual assessment calendars and testing schedules.
- Coordinate student testing accommodations in collaboration with Special Education and 504 teams.
- Train all assessment personnel on administration procedures and test security.
- Maintain compliance with Colorado Department of Education assessment requirements.
- Manage assessment materials, technology, logistics, and reporting.
- Serve as liaison between the school, district assessment office, CDE, and testing vendors.
- Monitor assessment completion and resolve testing issues.
- Analyze assessment results and provide reports to school leadership to support instructional planning.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain confidentiality of student records and assessment information.

- Participate in professional learning and continuous improvement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, criminal justice, education or a related field.
- Master's degree in education, educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or related field preferred.
- Colorado Teaching or Special Services License preferred.
- Minimum of five years of successful educational experience preferred.
