Reports To:

School Director/Principal

Academy High School (9-12) supports students in developing powerful problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through coursework that exposes them to challenging engineering and biomedical courses. Students work to master core subjects with an emphasis on science, technology, math, and engineering, gaining technical skills they may apply in the real world. Academy High School also offers a Health Sciences Pathway as a part of the District's CTE program.

Provides individualized support to help students overcome barriers, strengthen school connection, and achieve their academic and completion goals. Build partnerships with students, caregivers, and school personnel to coordinate interventions, track progress, and connect students with appropriate resources and opportunities.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Identify students demonstrating early warning signs of disengagement, not being successful in course, or not being on track for graduation.
• Meet with students on a weekly basis and conduct outreach (home visits, telephone calls, personal greetings, emails).
• Participate in MTSS processes.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings.
• Work closely with families of at-risk students to increase parent communication and engage parent community in ways to support students who are disengaged or struggling.
• Progress monitor and collect attendance and grading data for at risk students.
• Identify out-of-school youth through Infinite Campus.
• Collaborate with school secretary, MTSS team, and school administration.
• Work to connect and explore options to re-engage these students in educational programming which will allow them to complete high school.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Student Support Services or School Directors

Education and training: AA Degree or pass District Assessment. May require training in computers or bilingual education, languages, and/or cultures.

Experience:

At least 2 years' experience working with children and youth in a school setting preferred. Applicants with extensive experience working with children and youth in other settings will be considered. Experience implementing prevention programs with children, youth, and families preferred. Experience with computers, computer software, email, and internet required.

Skills, knowledge, & equipment:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to operate microcomputer and peripherals. Knowledge of Windows operating system and Windows-based office software.

Certificates, licenses, & registrations:
First Aid and CPR certifications required.

Supervisory/technical responsibility:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Training:
Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public-school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools. You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
