Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist Connecting Students. Strengthening Library Access.

Are you someone who enjoys helping students build confidence in finding, evaluating and using information? Do you thrive in a role that blends teaching, relationship-building and public service?

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist to support both Deer Trail School and Davies Library. In this role, you'll create and deliver library instruction, serve as a liaison with school partners, support collection development for the school, and provide direct services to both student and public library patrons. No two days look exactly the same. You may spend your morning teaching students about information literacy, your afternoon helping patrons with technology questions, and your evening connecting community members with library resources and services.

About

the Role

The Deer Trail School Engagement Specialist/Library Specialist works closely with Deer Trail faculty, the Davies Library Team and other Arapahoe Libraries staff to support student learning and community engagement. During the school year, you'll develop teaching plans and provide instruction that supports classroom learning while building library and information literacy skills. You'll help students explore new ideas, think critically about information, and develop confidence using library resources to support their learning.

This role serves as an important connection between the school and the public library. You'll build relationships with educators, students, families, and community members while helping connect people with resources, services, and opportunities that support their goals. Whether you're helping identify materials that support classroom curriculum, introducing students to new technologies, or encouraging exploration and discovery, you'll play an important role in expanding access to learning.

When you're not working with students, you'll help create a welcoming library experience for patrons of all ages. You'll assist with reference and technology questions, support library accounts and materials handling, promote library resources and programs, and contribute to the daily operations that keep the library running smoothly. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys continuous learning, takes initiative, and is comfortable adapting to new ideas, technologies, and community needs.
