The Estes Park School District is currently seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented individual to join our RISE Program (Restorative, Intervention, Support, Empowerment).

This paraprofessional position provides vital day-to-day support for students participating in the RISE Program - a temporary, structured, short-term intervention designed to help students overcome persistent behavioral and attendance challenges. Working under the guidance of certified educators and behavior support staff, the paraprofessional plays a key role in fostering restorative practices, maintaining academic engagement, and promoting social-emotional development for students within the program.

Primary

Responsibilities Student Supervision & Support
  • Maintain a quiet, safe, and structured environment for RISE participants throughout the school day.
  • Supervise and engage students in daily activities per the RISE schedule.
  • Support students with goal setting, emotional regulation, and behavior reflection. Monitor and model positive behavior aligned with restorative principles.
Academic Assistance
  • Assist students in completing academic work provided by their classroom teachers.
  • Provide clarification, scaffolding, and encouragement to support student engagement.
  • Track and report progress on assignments and participation.
Behavioral & Restorative Interventions
  • Support students in restorative reflection, skill-building, and intervention modules.
  • Facilitate or assist with restorative meetings or circles when appropriate.
  • Assist students in preparing written reflections and re-entry plans.
Social-Emotional Learning
  • Assist with implementation of SEL curriculum and activities.
  • Participate in or facilitate check-ins and wellness breaks.
  • Help students track emotional states and coping strategies using program tools.
Communication & Documentation
  • Maintain records of student attendance, behavior, and progress during the RISE placement.
  • Communicate regularly with the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) regarding student needs, achievements, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and families to ensure continuity of support.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to support students in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Experience working with youth in educational or behavioral support settings
  • Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed care, or social-emotional learning
  • Strong interpersonal, de-escalation, and communication skills.
